The 2018 National SEL Conference will be held June 27-29 in Nashville, Tennessee. Learn how you can…
The Social Emotional Learning Conference is an exciting annual event hosted by Metro Nashville Public Schools and Alignment Nashville’s Behavioral Health Team designed to address the urgent need to educate teachers and school staff in Social Emotional Learning competencies and practices, in order to create long-term systemic change around positive school climate, stronger support systems for students, improved student health, academic engagement, and overall student success. Since the inaugural conference in July 2011, mental health providers, SEL experts, and other community partners have come together around a common goal to provide a variety of workshops throughout the day for educators–promoting understanding and awareness of SEL and how it impacts school climate and academic engagement, and teaching on-the-ground skills that allow teachers to become models of SEL practice for their students.

Participants Engage & Reflect on the Conference
Very well planned out, organized, the materials were so helpful, the speakers provided a wealth of knowledge, break out sessions had adequate time. I cannot wait to attend again next year!
The SEL Conference was an opportunity for me to have conversations with other professionals in the education and nonprofit sector who serve our kids about how to holistically care for our students and families inside and outside the school setting.
Both the presenters and the attendees really care about the topic and the content is unmatched with ample learning and sharing opportunities and diverse presentations that included deliberate strategies and practices that I want to implement in my classrooms and home.
The SEL Conference offered workshops that broadened my perspective on serving our kids with the greatest needs. It gave me a comprehensive toolkit and concrete action steps for meeting SEL needs in our district.
This is a one of the best conferences I have ever been to. Not only is it organized incredibly well, but it’s fueled by a wealth of knowledge and excitement for SEL! Love it!

Since its beginning, the Nashville community has come together in an extraordinary way to make the conference a success! Now in its eighth year, the reach and influence has grown, but Nashville remains the beating heart and vibrant soul of the SEL Conference. Across seven years, an estimated $975,000 worth of professional development has been delivered to educators in Metro Nashville Public Schools at NO COST thanks to the contributions of local, state, regional, and national presenters who volunteer their time and knowledge, as well as the many vendors who provide top-notch resources and materials to conference participants. Although our stage is now a national one, our spirit remains that of Nashville. Learn more about Music City before your visit!
Whether coming as a sponsor, vendor, or presenter, the conference would not be possible without these participating organizations. Check back soon for exhibitor and presenter sign-ups!
